Save Festive tortilla wraps filled with colorful veggies, cheese, and a creamy spread, shaped like Christmas trees and crisped to perfection in the air fryer—a fun, healthy, and eye-catching holiday appetizer.
I love making these veggie tortilla wraps because they bring color and cheer to our holiday table while being easy to prepare and enjoy.
Ingredients
- Wraps: 4 large spinach tortillas (or regular flour tortillas)
- Spread: 100 g cream cheese, softened; 2 tbsp sour cream; 1 clove garlic, minced; 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped; Salt and pepper, to taste
- Veggies: ½ red bell pepper, finely diced; ½ yellow bell pepper, finely diced; 1 small carrot, julienned or grated; 50 g baby spinach leaves, roughly chopped; 50 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- Toppings & Garnish: 16 pretzel sticks (for tree trunks); Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for snow); 1 small yellow bell pepper, sliced into stars (for tree toppers)
Instructions
- Step 1:
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, minced garlic, chives, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Step 2:
- Lay each tortilla flat and spread a quarter of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface.
- Step 3:
- Sprinkle spinach, carrots, red and yellow bell peppers, and shredded cheese evenly over each tortilla.
- Step 4:
- Roll up each tortilla tightly. Using a sharp knife, slice each wrap into 2 3 equal pieces on a bias to create tree-shaped segments.
- Step 5:
- Insert a pretzel stick into the base of each wrap to form the tree trunk.
- Step 6:
- Use a small star-shaped cutter to make stars from the yellow bell pepper, and press one onto the top of each wrap tree.
- Step 7:
- Optionally, sprinkle wraps with sesame or poppy seeds for a snowy effect.
- Step 8:
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Step 9:
- Arrange wraps in the basket, cut side up, without overcrowding.
- Step 10:
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes, or until crisp and golden. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Recipe Questions
- → What type of tortillas work best for these wraps?
Spinach tortillas add color and nutrients, but regular flour tortillas are also excellent and hold together well during air frying.
- → Can I substitute the cream cheese spread?
Yes, you can use hummus or a vegan spread as a dairy-free alternative while keeping the creamy texture.
- → How do I ensure the wraps crisp evenly in the air fryer?
Arrange the wraps cut side up in a single layer without overcrowding the basket for proper air circulation and even crisping.
- → What vegetables can I use instead of bell peppers and carrots?
Feel free to substitute with cucumber, purple cabbage, zucchini, or any colorful veggies you prefer for variety and freshness.
- → How long should the wraps cool before serving?
Allow the wraps to cool slightly for a few minutes after air frying to help them set and be easier to handle and eat.
