# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It takes barely ten minutes and tastes like you spent hours planning it.
  • The basil does something unexpected—it makes the pineapple taste even more pineapple-y, if that makes sense.
  • One pitcher feeds four people or gets you through the afternoon on your own, no judgment.
02 -
  • Don't skip the straining step thinking you can get away with it—the pulp has a grainy texture that nobody actually enjoys.
  • Basil can turn bitter and dark if you over-blend it, so keep a close eye and stop as soon as everything is smooth and combined.
03 -
  • Buy the pineapple a day or two before you plan to make this; a slightly over-ripe one has more juice and sweetness, which means less agave you need to add.
  • If your blender struggles, cut the pineapple into smaller pieces—it helps the motor stay happy and blends more evenly.
