→ Latte Components
05 - 2 shots (2 fluid ounces) freshly brewed espresso
06 - 1 1/4 cups whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free option)
07 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
# Directions:
01 - Melt butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced onion, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Sauté gently, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply golden and caramelized, approximately 12–15 minutes.
02 - Transfer caramelized onions and any pan juices to a blender. Add 2 tablespoons of milk and blend until fully smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a silky consistency.
03 - Brew 2 shots of espresso and divide equally between two cups. Add 1 tablespoon of strained onion purée to each cup, mixing thoroughly.
04 - Heat remaining milk until steaming, then froth with a milk frother or whisk until creamy and foamy.
05 - Pour frothed milk over the espresso-onion mixture in each cup. Optionally, sweeten with honey or maple syrup. Stir gently and serve immediately.
